Open Space Training 2010 - OS as a powerful tool in youth work

This programme will provide participants with an intensive six-day training course on the method, “Open Space Technology”. The training course has been made possible through funding from the EU’s Youth in Action Programme which is administered in the UK by the British Council.
The programme is open to all full-time, part-time and voluntary youth work practitioners (qualified and unqualified) across all youth work sectors, be that voluntary, statutory or community.
The aim of the training is to train youth work practitioners in the use of Open Space Technology and through this medium support the development and implementation of youth work practice as a means of responding to the challenges of the new decade in both emerging and established civil societies.
Programme objectives are as follows:
* share Open Space Technology as a method for working with youth groups
* support the development and implementation of voluntary/youth work in established and emerging civil societies
* supporting the active participation of young people
* develop intercultural dialogue and networking between European, eastern-European and Caucasus countries
* involvement of people with fewer opportunities
* promotion of the “Youth in Action” programme
* improvement of quality of YIA (Youth In Action) programme and projects

Inside Out is the lead partner and is responsible for co-ordinating delivery of the training programme. In association with its partners in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Austria, Germany, Poland, Slovenia, Serbia, Macedonia, Croatia and Albania training will be delivered to 30 youth work practitioners. The minimum age for participation is 18.
In this programme there will be two types of participant categories – funded and non-funded. Those who are funded will be selected by partner organisations from the above countries as their representatives to attend the training – their place is funded under the Youth in Action Programme although a small fee will apply (see below).
